She is only seven years old, and we have established that she was raped repeatedly. The child told us that the principal did this to her, a man called #JacoPieterse. When this hit the media, Jaco was refusing to hand over his DNA and #Afriforum was representing him.  #JusticeForCweCwe

Last week I told you that Hugo Ferriera was convicted of raping and killing his eight-day-old child. Today it makes me marginally happy to tell you that Ferriera got two life sentences, and I hope he experiences the full penitentiary silver service! No one has spoken about this story from beginning to end. It’s been a strap line on a news bulletin at best. I’m Tonya Khoury, join me as I scratch the surface of the media that you endured this week.

I have a slightly different take on this #CweCwe case. When you do my job, you look for anomalies and oddities and in this instance there is a bouquet. Did you know that #CweCwe was raped in October 2024? Afriforum officially came out to say they are defending #JacoPieterse on 31 March this year. The universities have been protesting at #FeesMustFall volume for #JusticsForCweCwe. This started on the first of April. Isn’t that strange, where were the protests in October? Also, the police spokesperson let slip that the medical reports were only collected on the second of April. These crucial documents led us to learn that #CweCwe was indeed raped, not once, but repeatedly. Eventually Pieterse did hand over his DNA, and now we wait. Apparently, according to Barry Bateman, the official spokesperson of #Afriforum and my biggest journalistic disappointment, Afriforum will walk away from the case if they find that their client is involved. If a seven-year-old was hurt and they said you did it, but you know you were two kilometres away in another building, why wouldn’t you take that swab and shove it in your mouth yourself, why did it take five months and university riots for the police and counsel to kick into action? All of these are either anomalies or they’re just signs of a failing system and a gatvol nation. During this week I saw at least three more cases of child fatality or rape by the hands of our educators. This right here is a hornet’s nest and we’re going to feel the wrath of our land when the stings come home to burn. #CweCwe is the biggest story by a mile, but it’s not the only child abuse story that should have our rage dial turned up. #Omotoso the rapist and child trafficker was acquitted. We’ve been waiting for this verdict for eight years. Some of those girls are young women now and looto. Nothing. He was deported to Nigeria and that was that. Sure, we had Shamila Batoi head of the NPA say she wants to see the file, but no university protests? Eight years, thirty-two counts of rape or trafficking and we paid for him to go back to his country. I can’t stop there because if we’re talking about #ChildCarnage then I have to include #JoshlinSmith because she is why we are finally waking up to the massacre of our children.

I was glued to my phone as #GaytonMcKenzie went live to talk about the #JoshlinSmith case. The content was riveting and Gayton is certainly very brave. He told us that the mayor of Saldhana closed the Joshlin docket. He told us that #Ayanda is considered a “local businessman” by the government and even received funding for his carwash business that isn’t so much a carwash as it is a drug and child trafficking channel that has access to a large port. He told us that Saldhana is deliberately kept in poverty by shipping the drugs in and the kids out. He blew the lid off with napalm. He asked why he hadn’t been called as a witness in the #JoshlinTrial. He said that he spent days in Saldanha without sleep and he eventually found a proper lead. Someone who had done prison time and understood who Gayton truly was and could not lie to him. There is an honour amongst thieves and a hierarchy in prison and Gayton is top of the food chain. This informant pointed out the quite obvious link between the case and #Ayanda. No trouble to Gayton, and this is why I like the guy; he found Ayanda, invited him into his car, bought him some sweeties and took him straight to the police station. Apparently during the police visit, Gayton even gave Ayanda a cigarette when he asked for it. All sounds very cordial. The cops however have a docket ready to charge Gayton with kidnapping. I don’t make this up, I really do read the news, so you don’t have to. The biggest take out of this explosive content was this question: “How many Joshlins are there?”. Back to the Joshlin trial: the Judge was furious, he said he would not be cyber bullied but also told us that Ayanda is not on the role to be called during trial and that should be done immediately. The next day Kelly was sick and did a very slow walk in court. #JudgeNathanErasmus sent her to hospital but continued without skipping a beat. We heard of alleged police brutality and flawed testimonies from SAPS. The judge caught a couple of cops himself this week but for the most part, it will probably rule in the cops favour as the trial within a trial closes next week. #Justice4Joshlin

Back to politrix, did you watch the #BudgetVote? That was a historic moment for South Africa with the #DA and the Freedom Front Plus joining forces with #MKParty and the #EFF. That will surely be noted in history. Action SA became the king maker and ex-DA member (now Action SA member) Athol Trollip gave the DA a tongue lashing. He said that the DA never once consulted with Action SA and even though #ActionSA tried to talk to them, they were abrasive and dismissive. I believe him. That’s why the DA is failing even more than the ANC. It’s all about working together chaps, get that into your thick noggins. Anyway, the budget was passed so our VAT will go up by 0.5% in May. And here’s the thing, on the first of May, all companies will put up their VAT and all payments will be adjusted to #SARS’ demands. It will be seamless. If you want to see a working government entity, SARS is it. We can do it; it’s the incentive that needs to be big enough. As of today, the DA is taking the budget to court, so we’ll have that result in a few years’ time. Athol said it straight: “the DA are eunuchs” only they can’t see it. #CoalitionCollision

Let’s try and wrap up South Africa: Trump has offered a refugee camp in Pretoria for the Afrikaners suffering #WhiteGenocide or #WhiteVictimhood. Out of the 67000 applicants (which was later redacted and said to be one thousand), only one hundred cases have officially been lodged with the US embassy. Genocide indeed. Did Trump say anything about our children? Any shelters for them? I mean if he’s so interested, someone tell him South Africans are doing #BadThings to our children.

Then the King had a leaked voice note which wasn’t flattering. #SteveHofmeyr wants the k-word back, wonder if he’s at the embassy, I’d really contribute to his ticket. And then, Rassie is going to Wales. We’re generally miserable as the school break starts and it’s cold. Winter is nipping at our heels and it may be cold, but not as cold as the Penguins at McDonald island who, as the sole residents, are subject to Trump’s tariff hikes.

Oh thumper, he made a meal of it didn’t he? He called it #LiberationDay, the day he tanked his and many other economies across the world. I was loving Trump’s agenda because the rand was flying. My international bills had never been so cheap but it’s all over now. I’ve given him little attention this week. I saw that Elon is going back to his day job. This was after he wore a cheese hat and gave out cheques for votes in Wisconsin and still lost. He was also crying about the Tesla demonstrations, and he really couldn’t understand why people would be so mean. Strange thing with narcissists, they never can recognise their own failures. I watched #CoryBrooker whine about Trump for twenty-five hours straight. He did not sit down; he didn’t eat or drink or even go to the bathroom. He never once mentioned Palestine. We saw another senator quote Goebbels, for real for real.

I watched the #BibiFiles this week and my goodness if you thought #Netanyahu was a piece of work, wait until you meet his missus. Unbelievable documentary which explains why #BenGvir and #Smotrich are critical in Netanyahu’s plan to keep himself out of jail. Just after I’d watched this, Smotrich left and the day before yesterday we saw demonstrations spring up in Tel Aviv and settlers storm Bibi’s house. Is the emperor finally naked? Maybe, but in the meantime he has torn into Syria as if it were the new Gaza, and the Syrians, what’s left of them, have taken up arms. He struck Lebanon too as his pushes his plans for #GreaterIsrael across borders that are not Gaza. Borders where there is no Hamas and no hostages. And where are my Arab brethren? Well firstly, Saudi can spot a moon in a lunar eclipse but can’t see a genocide in Palestine, so there’s that. They are hosting Trumpet and are giving across chunks of cash to the USA that will be rinsed and sent back to kill their Muslim brothers. Revolting. I’m angrier at the Arab world than I am at Israel. That says a great deal. #FreePalestine

I read that Iran was told not to panic, even though Trump has threatened them almost every day. The Netherlands are moving tank upon tank, where to? It’s not public knowledge yet, we only have social media footage of the tanks on trains. The Danes told Trump they’d work with him; there’s no need to threaten them about #Greenland. #Poepbang

There was a massive earthquake in Myanmar / Thailand, and we witnessed destruction across Bangkok, a place quite far from the epicentre of the quake. I have friends over there and everyone of them have a story that will make your eyes big.
